SpectacleBot – Verification Privacy Policy

1. Overview

Spectacle Studios (“Spectacle”) operates a non-commercial Discord bot that allows users to link their Discord and Roblox accounts for verification purposes, hosted in Ontario, Canada and managed by authorized Spectacle administrators (“we”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information in accordance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). This policy should be read together with the Account Verification notice provided within our Discord servers.

2. Account Verification Notice

In order to help determine real users from bots, Spectacle Studios provides a Roblox/Discord account linking feature within our official Discord bot. In most cases, verifying your accounts is optional. However, we may request verification in situations where we reasonably suspect:

  • A user may be under 13 years of age
  • A user may be engaging in malicious or abusive behavior
  • Additional confirmation is required to protect community integrity

Users who voluntarily link their accounts may receive in-server benefits (such as experience boosts) within Spectacle servers. They also gain access to features and commands that are otherwise inaccessible without data gained through Roblox’s API.

Before linking, users should:

  • Ensure they are interacting with the official Spectacle bot within an official Spectacle server
  • Confirm that any authorization link directs to authorize.roblox.com
  • Understand that we use OAuth 2.0 to securely connect accounts
  • Understand that only limited account information is shared through Roblox’s OAuth system
  • Understand that linking does not grant access to Robux, items, passwords, or full account control

Users are responsible for logging in with the correct Roblox account during verification.

3. Information We Collect

When you use the verification service, we collect and store:

  • Your Discord User ID
  • Your Roblox User ID

We do not collect, nor do we have access to:

  • Real names
  • Email addresses
  • Passwords
  • Robux balances
  • Inventory data
  • Payment information

Although limited, Discord and Roblox User IDs are considered personal information because they are persistent identifiers associated with user accounts.

4. Purpose of Collection

Your Discord ID and Roblox ID are collected solely for:

  • Linking your Discord account to your Roblox account
  • Verifying account authenticity
  • Preventing abuse and bot activity
  • Maintaining account-link integrity within Spectacle servers
  • Providing in-server benefits associated with verified account
  • Providing access to your in-game stats within Spectacle servers

Your information is not used for advertising, analytics, profiling, tracking outside Spectacle servers, or resale.

Consent is implied when you voluntarily use the verification service. By initiating account verification, you consent to the collection and use of your Discord ID and Roblox ID for the purposes described in this policy. You may withdraw consent at any time by requesting deletion of your data.

6. Age Requirement

Users must be at least 13 years of age to use this service, consistent with Discord’s Terms of Service. Verification may be requested if we reasonably suspect a user does not meet this requirement.

7. Data Storage and Location

The bot and database are hosted on a server located in Ontario, Canada. The server is protected by firewall restrictions and is not publicly accessible. No public ports are exposed. Access is limited to authorized Spectacle Studios staff. Offline backups are stored in Ontario, Canada.

8. Cross-Border Data Transfers

The verification process uses OAuth and API services provided by Roblox Corporation. As part of account verification:

  • Data may be transmitted to and from Roblox’s servers.
  • Roblox servers may be located outside Canada.
  • Information processed outside Canada may be subject to foreign laws. Spectacle Studios does not control Roblox’s independent data handling practices.

9. Safeguards

We protect your information using:

  • Administrative safeguards (restricted staff access)
  • Technical safeguards (firewall restrictions, authentication controls, limited network exposure)
  • Secure database access controls
  • Offline backup storage We take reasonable measures to protect information against loss, theft, unauthorized access, disclosure, copying, use, or modification.

10. Retention and Automatic Deletion

Your data is retained until one of the following occurs:

  • You request deletion;
  • You leave our Discord servers; or
  • You are banned from our Discord servers.

If you leave or are banned, your linked data is deleted. If you submit a deletion request, your data will be permanently removed from the active database within 30 days of receiving a verified request. Deletion is performed using database-level removal commands. Offline backups may temporarily retain data until overwritten through normal backup rotation cycles.

11. Access and Deletion Requests

You may request:

  • Confirmation of whether we store your data
  • A copy of the Discord ID and Roblox ID associated with your account
  • Correction of inaccurate information
  • Deletion of your data

Requests must be submitted through a support ticket in an official Spectacle Studios Discord server. If you no longer have access to the server, you may contact us using a new Discord account and provide sufficient information to demonstrate control of the linked Roblox or Discord account. We will verify identity before fulfilling access or deletion requests.

12. Disclosure of Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your information. We do not disclose your information to third parties except:

  • As required to interact with Roblox’s API during verification; or
  • If required by law.

13. Accountability and Contact Information

Spectacle Studios is responsible for personal information under its control.
